Highlights of Hayley’s 2024-25 season include Wanda (La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein, L’Opéra Comique de Washington), Nella (Gianni Schicchi, Opera Company of Middlebury), Musetta (La bohéme, cover, Opera Company of Middlebury), and premiering the roles of both Jessica and Nerissa in a workshop of brin solomon’s The Quality of Mercy. They were named the First Place winner of the Edward M. Murray Competition (Opera Ithaca), the Second Place winner of the John Alexander Competition (Opera Mississippi), and a Finalist of the Pavarotti Competition (Opera Naples).
Over the 2023-24 season, Hayley made several role and company debuts, including Frasquita (Carmen, Opera Western Reserve), the Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte, Loudoun Lyric Opera), and the Baronne de Gondremarck (La Vie Parisienne, L’Opéra Comique de Washington). They were also named a DMV District Winner of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition and a Winner of the Gigli International Opera Competition.
As a 2022-23 Jan Miller Studio Artist at Pensacola Opera, Hayley performed the role of Carrie Pipperidge in Carousel, and covered Musetta in La Bohème and Julie Jordan in Carousel. They also appeared in scenes as Manon (Manon), Norina (Don Pasquale), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), and Sophie (Werther). In December, Hayley was the soprano soloist for the Choral Society of Pensacola's Messiah.
Hayley spent the 2021-22 season as a chorister with Houston Grand Opera, performing in Carmen, Dialogues of the Carmelites, Die Zauberflöte, and Turandot, also making their house debut as the First Handmaiden in Turandot. In November, they presented a recital in the DC area as part of the Living Arts Concert Series, featuring Mozart’s rarely performed concert aria, Popoli di Tessaglia.
Over the course of their education, Hayley appeared onstage as Romilda (Serse), Nella (Gianni Schicchi), Blumenmädchen (Parsifal), Lucy (The Telephone), and Mme. Herz (Die Schauspieldirektor). A third-place winner in the inaugural Cincinnati SongSLAM, Hayley is also a passionate advocate of new music. They have presented numerous premieres in the past decade, including William Kenlon’s Longfellow Mosaic, composed specifically for Hayley to perform with Pierrot ensemble.
A sought-after chorister, Hayley has appeared with some of the country’s foremost ensembles. In addition to the HGO Chorus, they have performed with the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir (the Philadelphia Orchestra’s resident chorus), the Spoleto Festival USA Chorus, and the University of Maryland Concert Choir alongside both the National Symphony Orchestra and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
Hayley holds degrees from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (MM '20, PD '21) and the University of Maryland School of Music (BM '18), where they studied with Carol Vaness and Delores Ziegler, respectively. They are a student of Jason Ferrante.

Praised for their “searing dramatic power” and “brilliant top” (Washington Classical Review), soprano Hayley Abramowitz is earning a reputation as a versatile and exciting young coloratura. Hayley opened their 2025-26 season as Herodias in the world premiere staging of Alessandro Stradella’s St. John the Baptist (INSeries Opera), a role in which they were celebrated for their “wonderful stage presence” and “remarkable voice, capable of filling the theater effortlessly” (OperaWire). Later in the season, they will make their debuts with the Dartmouth Handel Society as the soprano soloist in Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, and with Upper Valley Baroque as a soloist in their Bach: Easter Oratorio & Magnificat concert series. In January, Hayley will cover Rosalinde and sing in the chorus of Die Fledermaus as a young artist with Cedar Rapids Opera.
